Local Water Quality

Maryland's Water Commonly Tests "Hard" to "Very Hard"

Much of Maryland — along with the neighboring parts of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Virginia we serve — sits on limestone and carbonate-rich geology. Per the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, water in the 121–180 mg/L range is classified "Hard," and anything above 180 mg/L is "Very Hard" — the range most public and well water in this region falls into. A whole-home system treats it at the point where water enters your house, not one faucet at a time.

Savings Calculator

Do the math on your water.

Move the sliders to match your household. We use conservative assumptions and subtract the salt and filter upkeep too.

Your estimated 5-year savings
{{fiveYear}}
about {{perYear}} per year, after upkeep
Bottled water replaced{{rowB}}/yr
Detergent and soap saved (25% less){{rowD}}/yr

{{payback}}

Planning estimates, not a guarantee. Assumptions: 90% of bottled water replaced by reverse osmosis, 25% less detergent and soap, 10% lower water heating cost, $12 per hour of cleaning time, $120 per year for longer appliance life, and $180 plus $30 per person per year for salt and filters. Payback uses the $2,599 installed price. Your results depend on your household and water.

What Soft Water Actually Changes

Hard water works against your home every day. Here's what softening it fixes.

Hard water vs. soft water comparison
Softer Skin & Hair
Without hard mineral buildup, soap rinses cleanly instead of leaving a film — skin feels less dry and hair feels less brittle.
Extends the Life of Your Appliances
Scale is what quietly wears out water heaters, washing machines, and dishwashers early. Softened water means less strain on every one of them.
Prevents Scale on Fixtures & Faucets
No more white crust around faucets and shower heads, or cloudy spots on glass shower doors and dishes.
Better-Tasting Water
The sediment and carbon pre-filter cuts chlorine taste and odor and traps particles, so tap water — and your coffee — tastes noticeably better.
Regenerates Only When Needed
A digital metered control head tracks your actual water use and cleans the resin only when it's needed, rather than on a fixed schedule — saving salt and water.
Brighter Laundry, Less Soap Needed
Soft water lets detergent do its job fully, so clothes come out brighter and you typically use less soap and lotion overall.
Whole-House UV Protection
Every drop entering your home passes through a UV-C light chamber that inactivates bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms — with no chemicals and no change in taste.
Spot-Free Dishes & Glassware
No more cloudy spots and streaks on glasses, silverware, and shower doors — and less scrubbing to keep them clear.
Works on City or Well Water
Ion-exchange softening handles both, and the UV system adds protection for well water and other unsafe sources. Homes on a well get a quick water test first, so we can confirm the right fit before install.
Under the Hood

How Your Softener Works

Real softening, not just a filter: hard minerals are physically swapped out of your water, then flushed away.

1
A pre-filter protects the system
Sand, silt, and dirt are caught before water ever reaches the softener, so the resin can focus on hardness.
2
Resin beads swap out the hardness
As water flows through the resin tank, calcium and magnesium cling to the beads (ion exchange) and soft water continues on to your home.
3
Brine recharges the resin
A salt brine flushes the collected minerals to the drain and refreshes the resin. A metered head does this only when you've used enough water to need it.

Whole-House Protection

The Ultimate Defender Against Waterborne Contaminants

Our powerful UV-C technology obliterates invisible impurities, giving you reassurance that your water is safer than ever — because let's be real, we don't know what's truly in our water. With our 12 GPM UV system, your entire house becomes a fortress against impurities.

It's the last stop in the system, after the pre-filter and softener, so the water is already clear when it reaches the UV light.

How the UV water sterilizer works: pre-treated water passes the UV light and exits sterilized
UV-C light sterilizing bacteria, viruses, cysts, fungi, E. coli, algae, coliform, and giardia
Designed for 3–4 bathroom homes, up to 6 people.
Ideal for homes on city water, well water, or with an unsafe water source.
Inactivates waterborne pathogens like bacteria, viruses, E. coli, and more.
Improves water quality without affecting taste, color, or odor.
High flow rate (12 GPM) with no noticeable change in water pressure.
Built with a strong 304 stainless-steel chamber, designed to last and withstand high-intensity UV exposure.
Comes pre-assembled, saving you time and effort.

What the Free RO System Adds

A 4-stage reverse osmosis system installed under your kitchen sink targets your drinking water on top of whole-home softening.

How the four reverse osmosis stages work: sediment, carbon, membrane, and post-carbon
Reverse osmosis filtration stages and the contaminants it removes

A 3-gallon tank stores clean drinking water, so it is ready whenever you are.

Effectively removes harmful contaminants like sediment, chemicals, heavy metals, lead, chlorine, fluoride, chloramine, VOCs, TDS, arsenic, and more.

With a low 1.5:1 pure-to-drain ratio, our RO system automatically fills your tank with high-quality purified drinking water — up to 75 GPD (gallons per day).

Cleaner, Safer Drinking Water
Eliminates up to 99% of contaminants, including chlorine, lead, PFAs, micro-plastics, chemicals, heavy metals, VOCs, unpleasant tastes, bad odors, rust, sediment, and more.
Noticeably Better Taste
Straight from the tap — better for drinking, cooking, ice, and coffee, with no separate pitcher filter to keep refilling.
Fewer Plastic Bottles
Filtered water on demand at the sink means fewer bottled-water runs and less single-use plastic in your recycling bin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you test my water before pricing it?
Most homes in this area have well-documented hardness levels, so we can price accurately without an in-home visit. We're happy to arrange testing if you'd like it.
What's included in the price?
One flat price covers the 48,000-grain electronic metered softener with its sediment and carbon pre-filter, the whole-house UV sterilization system, and installation by a licensed, insured local plumber. Install today and the 4-stage under-sink reverse osmosis system — with its faucet and 3-gallon tank — is yours free, installation included. The system is sized for homes with roughly 3–4 bathrooms.
Does the softener use salt?
Yes. It's a traditional ion-exchange softener, so it uses salt in a brine tank to refresh its resin. A digital metered head tracks your actual water use and regenerates only when needed, which saves salt and water compared with a fixed schedule. You'll top off the salt periodically.
Does the UV system need power or upkeep?
It plugs into a standard outlet and runs continuously. A display tracks days of use and an alarm sounds if the lamp fails. The lamp is rated for about 9,000 hours, so plan on replacing it about once a year.
Who actually installs the system?
A licensed, insured plumber based in your area — never a general contractor.
How long does installation take?
Most installs are completed in a single visit, usually scheduled within a week of your order.
Does this work with well water?
Yes. The system works on both city and well water, and the UV system adds protection against bacteria and viruses. Because wells vary, we run a quick water test (pH, hardness, and iron) before confirming final pricing.
What areas do you serve?
We serve homes across Maryland, plus nearby parts of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Virginia.
Are filters included?
Yes — for every part of the system. The softener comes with its resin pre-filled and its sediment and carbon pre-filter installed (recommended for replacement about every 6 months), the UV system comes with its lamp installed, and the reverse osmosis system comes with its initial 4-stage filter set. We'll walk you through the replacement schedule at install. Ongoing salt, replacement filters, and the UV lamp (typically replaced about once a year) aren't part of the installed price, but we're happy to help you source them when it's time.
